Facade retention is used in civil construction to ensure the stability and safety of facades during construction work, especially during renovations and refurbishments of buildings. Its main objective, very similar to shoring, is to prevent the collapse or displacement of external walls while the structure is being reinforced or modified. The facade retention system is fundamental for the protection of workers, as well as ensuring the integrity of the building, preventing deformations and damage during the construction process.
